Think fast! When it comes to computer passwords, what's far-and-away the most popular? A pet's name? A favorite sports team? A birth date?

Best Get-Happy Foods

Something I talked about on the show today that I thought might interest you. Doesn't hurt to try it, let me know if it works for you.

Eating your way to happiness:

Oranges, lemons and other citrus fruits (Vitamin C)
-This vitamin helps you cope better in stressful times by lowering your levels of stress hormones.

Nuts (Vitamin E and Magnesium)
-A handful of nuts will keep you full and satisfied because they have a low glycemic index-whiche means they don't jack up your blood sugar levels and cause mood swings.

Leafy Greens (Folic Acid)

Finally!!!!!

For 2 weeks while driving my girlfriend to and from work each day she has bugged me to drive down lakeshore road to spot the Turkey that's decided to hang out on the streets and in neighborhoods in the area. She is truly disappointed each time that we don't see it. She is a true animal lover.

We've driven through the streets of Lakeshore looking for this turkey but could never find it or see it, until now. Driving down lakeshore she gets a text from a co-worker telling her the turkey is on the street walking around, needless to say she's excited. We drive down lakeshore and finally get to the plaza on the corner of Lakeshore and Geneva and there it is holding up traffic walking down the middle of the road following a car. This thing is big and it follows a car right in to the parking lot as if it is going after this person. It was funny to see. If you want to venture out to see it, check the area of Aquadale and Lakeshore and that's where it usually is. Apparently there are 9 of them but let's hope 1 is enough to satisfy the girlfriends excitement J

Free websites to help you find useful info.

As promised here is some useful info. Have a great weekend and enjoy the warmer temps.

  • Here’s a great site to try if you can’t remember someone’s birthday: BirthDatabase.com. Simply type a person’s first and last name, as well as their approximate age, and this site will scour millions of public government records for the closest match, anywhere in North America!
  • Next, to track down an old friend: Try either Wink.com or Pipl.com. These are two “deep Web” search sites, which scour public and private internet pages – including profiles on social networking sites like LinkedIn or MySpace. They’ll provide you with links to profiles, blogs, photos and – in some cases - even phone numbers.
  • Next, if you need to run a background check on someone: Try BRBpub.com or CriminalSearches.com. Before you hire a new contractor or babysitter, ask them for a list of references along with their full name and birth date. Then, type that information into one of these sites for a peek at their criminal record – if they have one. If one name turns up many hits, consider that a red flag.
  • How about if you have questions about the safety of your medication? Try this site: Drugs.com/drug_interactions.php. Type a full list of all the vitamins, medications and supplements that you take into this site. Then it’ll alert you of any potential interactions that could be harmful to your health.
  • Finally, to get help writing the perfect resume: Try Razume.com. Just upload your current resume to this site, and a workplace professional will contact you with ideas to help tailor it in a way that’ll grab an employer’s attention. For an extra fee, they’ll also provide all the tools and resources you need to find and land the perfect job.

Foods you should Eat together.

Here's some great info about your health. Enjoy

Foods You Should Be Eating Together

  • Let's start with green tea with a squeeze of lemon. That combo is powerful enough to lower your risk of heart disease and stroke. In a study of over 40,000 Japanese men and women, those who drank five cups of green tea a day had the lowest risk. It's all down to powerful antioxidants in the tea. However, when you drink green tea on its own, only 20% of those antioxidants survive digestion.

Happy Easter.

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter. Hope your getting to enjoy this beautiful day with family and friends.

World's Strangest Laws

I was searching the internet and came across this. It even mentions Canada in the article. The law in Canada reminds me of the Seinfeld epsisode when Kramer tries to pay for his Calzones with change. Click on the link to see some strange but true laws in other parts of the world.

I'm not perfect :)

I was checking in with my blog to see if anyone had comments and well there was and I accidently erased them without even reading them. My apologies. I'm not perfect when it comes to how things work, computer-wise :) Please comment again if you wish. I promise not to erase them this time.

Ol' man winter springs a surprise!!

The Easter weekend is always unpredictable so it really shouldn't be any suprise about the weather BUT enough already right? I agree. I've personally had enough of the winter weather!!!

Anyway, here is the bit that I was talking about on-air today, "Misleading Food Labels" This will come in handy. Have a great night and as always thanks for listening.

Misleading Food Labels

  • Ignore "diet" or "zero calorie" sodas. A low calorie count sounds great, but all carbonated drinks contain phosphoric acid, which is used to prevent bacterial growth.
  • Something you might want to pass along to your Boss.

I found this just a few minutes ago and thought I would pass it along. Hey, maybe it's true. Check it out. Just click on the link to read the article. http://tech.yahoo.com/news/nm/20090402/tc_nm/us_work_internet_tech_life

Improving your diet with some simple tweaks

Improving Your Diet With Some Simple Tweaks

Want to improve your diet? Here are a few simple tweaks that'll make it easier to eat healthy. This comes from Woman's Day magazine, and registered dietician Karen Ansel:

    • First, fat and calories are the most important, but don't ignore sodium! Be especially careful of soups and frozen dinners, which tend to be loaded with salt. Powdered soup mixes are often worse than canned. In fact, just one serving of cream of vegetable soup contains over 1,100 milligrams of sodium, and most people eat two servings. So there's more than your entire day's worth of sodium in one bowl.
    • Then, what you eat matters most, but where you eat comes in a close second. Studies show that when people are distracted by the TV, they tend to overeat. Another downside: You don't get the psychological benefits of sitting down and enjoying your food. Which means you may feel the need to eat your next meal too soon. So, turn off the TV, sit down at the table, and have a real meal.
    • Drink water instead of sugary soda, juice, wine, and coffee. Researchers say the number of calories we drink has increased by 93% in the last 40 years. The really bad news is that liquid calories don't activate the brain's appetite-control center. This means, even though a coffee drink contains as many calories as a Big Mac and fries, you'll still eat the Big Mac because liquids don't satisfy your hunger like solid food. A Purdue University study also found that people gain more weight from liquid calories because they don't take as much energy for your body to digest.
    • The truth is, you can eat chocolate and pizza every day without gaining weight - if you do it right. For example, eating one one-ounce piece of dark chocolate a day - if it's at least 60% cocoa - can reduce your risk of high blood pressure and wrinkles! As for the pizza: Stick to one slice and go light on the cheese and heavy on the veggies - or add a side salad. You'll end up with a healthy meal packed with lycopene, calcium, and vitamin C.

This is no April Fools joke, or is it?

First off, I'm a little sore today from doing yard work this past weekend and moving that furniture I was talking about yesterday. I am really happy that stuff is gone though, there is a lot less clutter now. No pain, no gain I guess or something like that.

I wanted to pass along a link to a web article that I think is very useful for you. I'm sure by now you have heard about the Conficker worm that is supposed to harm millions of computers worldwide.  It is set to activate April 1st. Is this an april fools joke or real? That remains to be seen. We will find out soon enough. This is basically a last minute Conficker survival guide. http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/132464. Have a great night. Thanks as always for listening.

    Monday

So I woke up today and looking out the kitchen window and thought I must be dreaming. Wet flurries!! What gives? I thought winter was over. Oh well, with April just around the corner maybe that is a true sign of spring, who knows. Anyways, hope you had a great weekend. Hey, if you happened to be driving around Montebello Park this past weekend you probably saw them setting up a carnival. Now before you go getting any ideas about bringing the kids down to check it out you might not get that close to the park. It's not what you think it is. Turns out Hollywood is coming to St.Catharines. They will be filming an ABC pilot called Happy Town. They will be shooting for 3 days beginning April 1st. No this not an April Fools joke. It's true. I guess it's great for the city and good for the economy but with massive construction going on already downtown this is just going to add even more traffic troubles for 3 days. I suggest that if you need to use any of the streets in the area allow yourself a lot of extra time.
