Welland MPP Cindy Forster wants to know what you think about a proposal for a new mega hospital in Niagara's south.
The New Democrat is hosting 2 public meetings next week in Port Colborne & Welland to get feedback.
Earlier this month, Niagara Health System supervisor Dr Kevin Smith introduced a series of recommendations aimed at improving local healthcare. The highlight is a move to close existing hospital sites in Niagara Falls, Welland, Fort Erie & Port Colborne in favour of a hospital & stand alone urgent care centre to serve Niagara's south. Dr Smith has left the location of the hospital & UCC up to the mayors of south Niagara.
Dr Smith is spending the coming weeks gathering feedback & plans to have a final report on the Health Minister's desk in mid-June.
Forster's public meetings are:
-Tuesday May 22 at Welland Civic Square, East Main St 6pm
-Wednesday May 23 at Port Colborne's Guild Hall, Charlotte St 6pm
